Maa Aayi hai baa haale Pareshaan Husaynaa

Oh the apple of Fatima’s eyes, her beloved Hussain

Your mother has come in this difficult time - Hussain

In Zaalimo(n) ne haaye tujhe Pyaasa hi maaraa

Loota gaya Pardes me gar Haaye Husaynaa

These disbelievers slaughtered you thirsty

Your house was looted in a foreign land - O Hussain

Roze pe bula li jiye bas yeh hai tamanna

Kehta hai Zaakir aap ka zawaar Hussaina

My only wish is that you call me to visit your shrine

Im pleading as your eulogist – O Hussain

Jannat se buka karti huwi fatema ayi 

Sar pit ke yun kehne laghi haaye husseina

Grief stricken from the heavens Fatima came 

Beating her head she started lamenting – O Hussain

Bhooke rahe pyaase rahe dariya ke kinaare 

Daswi ko gala tera kata haaye husseina

You were hungry and thirsty on the riverbanks

On the 10th day the beheaded you – O Hussain

Is teeron bhare jism pe laachaar hun beta

Sine se lagaane ki hai Armaan husseina

I am distraught by seeing your arrow riddled body

I dream to hug and hold you close to my chest – O Hussein 

Talwaar lage teer lage neze lage hain

Na ghusl hai na kafan hai akfaan husseina
