Suno Gham Ka Bayan Wawila

Mawla Qasim
Share
Jabir Alidina

Suno gham ka bayan wawaila - Wawaila re wawaila

Lash Qasim ki ran mein pari thi, Fauje kuffar saari khari thi
Aankhein hazrat ki haq se lari thi, Qurbaan wawaila

Amma roti thi Qasim ki jaayi, Lahu aankhon se apne bahaye
Saare kunbe ko apne rulaye, Subhaan wawaila

Apne baalon ko kholey sarasar, Lashey qasim ki bethi barabar
Saari bibiyan hogayin muztar - Uryaan wawaila

Shor karbal mein aisa macha tha, Jaan apni ko shah ne khapaya
Huwe khatoone jannat ka jaaya, Weeraan wawaila

Nana jinke padar ka Nabi ho, Baba jinke padar ka Ali ho
Daadi khatoone arshe bareen ho, Zeeshaan wawaila

Ghar me shadi ki hamki tayari, Bole qasim ki ranme sawari
Sari khalqat me kekhe pukari, Armaan wawela

Sehra sar se na usne utara, Qatlagah se hi jannat sidhara
Aya roohe Nabi ka pyaara, Jawaan wawela

Sar pe khoon ki laali thi chaayi, Maa ne ro kar yeh faryaad uthayi
Kis ne mehndi lahu se lagaayi, Hairaan wawela

Suno gham ka bayan wawaila - Wawaila re wawaila
Listen to the tale of grief — alas, what sorrow!
Oh, what tragedy! Oh, what sorrow!

Lash Qasim ki ran mein pari thi, Fauje kuffar saari khari thi
Aankhein hazrat ki haq se lari thi, Qurbaan wawaila
The lifeless body of Qasim lay upon the battlefield,
The entire army of the enemies stood gathered around.
He had fought in defense of his uncle,
Oh, what a sacrifice - Alas, what sorrow!

Amma roti thi Qasim ki jaayi, Lahu aankhon se apne bahaye
Saare kunbe ko apne rulaye, Subhaan wawaila
Qasim's mother wept for the son she had brought up,
She shed tears of blood from her sorrowful eyes.
Her anguish brought the entire family to tears,
Oh, how exalted his sacrifice - Alas, what sorrow!

Apne baalon ko kholey sarasar, Lashey qasim ki bethi barabar
Saari bibiyan hogayin muztar - Uryaan wawaila
With her hair completely loosened in mourning,
She sat beside the lifeless body of Qasim.
All the noble ladies were overcome with anguish,
Their grief laid bare — Alas, what sorrow!

Shor karbal mein aisa macha tha, Jaan apni ko shah ne khapaya
Huwe khatoone jannat ka jaaya, Weeraan wawaila
Such cries of grief arose upon the plains of Karbala,
He sacrificed his life for The noble Imam,
The beloved son of the Lady of Paradise was martyred,
All was left desolate — Alas, what devastation!

Nana jinke padar ka Nabi ho, Baba jinke padar ka Ali ho
Daadi khatoone arshe bareen ho, Zeeshaan wawaila
His father's grandfather was the Holy Prophet,
His father's father was the noble Ali,
His grandmother was the exalted Lady of the Highest Heavens,
Oh, one of such glorious lineage! - Alas, what sorrow!

Ghar me shadi ki hamki tayari, Bole qasim ki ranme sawari
Sari khalqat me kekhe pukari, Armaan wawela
Within the home, preparations for a wedding were underway,
But Qasim rode forth instead toward the battlefield.
Throughout all the people, cries of anguish rang out,
Oh, those cherished dreams left unfulfilled! - Alas, what sorrow!

Sehra sar se na usne utara, Qatlagah se hi jannat sidhara
Aya roohe Nabi ka pyaara, Jawaan wawela
He had not yet removed the wedding garland from his head,
When from the battlefield, he departed for Paradise.
The beloved young one, so dear to the soul of the Prophet,
Oh, such a precious youth! Alas, what sorrow!

Sar pe khoon ki laali thi chaayi, Maa ne ro kar yeh faryaad uthayi
Kis ne mehndi lahu se lagaayi, Hairaan wawela
The stain of blood had spread across his head
His mother wept and cried out in anguish
“Who has adorned him with henna made of blood?”
Stunned with grief – Alas! What a tragedy!
