Kunba rota hai aaj karbal mein

Qatl e sarwar hai aaj- waaweila

The holy household is weeping in Karbala

Today the Imam has been slain – oh grief!

Khaaq par sotay hai Ali asgher 

Naa bichhona hai aaj- waaweila

Today Ali asgher is sleeping on the burning sands of Karbala instead of a bed – oh grief!

Aaj Shewan hai kul jahaano mein

Aandhi cheli hai aaj- waaweila
